CIVIL DESIGNER NEWSFLASH

CIVIL DESIGNER BREAKS NEW RECORDS BY HANDLING 25 MILLION POINTS ON A 400KM RAILWAY

Civil Designer 2011 broke new records for civil engineering design software and has handled over 25 million points (25,726,508 to be exact) from a LIDAR survey.

The data was required for the 400km railway design needed for the Kranzberg - Tsumeb railway line in Namibia. A series of derailments on this railway line has prompted the Namibian Government to take emergency measures to rehabilitate the country's ENTIRE railway network at the cost of about N$7 billion.

To our knowledge there is no other civil engineering design package that can handle even half that many points, never mind contain all the functionality that forms part of Civil Designer's suite of design tools.

This pro-active approach forms part of our philosophy of anticipating our client's needs and staying way ahead of the competition. In 2008 we embarked on an intensive 3 year redesign of our software precisely so that we could handle large volumes of data and ensure that Civil Designer stays the preferred infrastructure design platform of thousands of engineers.

We wish Windhoek Consulting Engineers all the best on this interesting design project.

CIVIL DESIGNER PREFERED BY OUR SOUTH AFRICAN CLIENTS IN AUSTRALIA

We are receiving an increasing number of enquiries from Australia by South African clients that have worked with Civil Designer but are now forced to use an Australian software package with their new employers.

Even though they have learnt to use the local software, they just can't help but wish that their companies would change to Civil Designer as they feel it is a superior product which results in less CAD work and does things that make their life easier such as generating sewer and stormwater long sections, sizing pipes etc etc.

If you are a South African living in Australia we welcome your continued feedback on the competitive advantage we have and are willing to offer all Australian companies a 50% crossgrade discount if they switch to Civil Designer.

Warm Regards,

The Knowledge Base Team
