EVALUATING EXISTING STORMWATER INFRASTRUCTURE CAPACITIES
"We always use Civil Designer for evaluating existing stormwater infrastructure capacities and we appreciate the speed at which large amounts of nodes, links and catchments can be analysed. The spreadsheet function makes editing easier and faster than selecting each node for editing. The user-defined links allow combinations of existing and new non-standard stormwater systems. The plan shown above relates to the evaluation of the Tlokwe Stormwater Master Plan." Pieter le Roux, Fick Hollenbach and Partners.

ADDING NODES AND LINKS ON A STORMWATER NETWORK
Previously, in order to ensure that pipes were parallel to a cadastral boundary, it would be necessary to draw a stormwater network in CAD and then convert it to a stormwater model later. This offered more user friendly tools to ensure the network was geometrically aligned to boundaries or other definition lines.
Now, you can draw nodes and links at an offset to CAD lines or parallel to CAD lines inside the Storm module itself and without using the CAD module. This applies to stormwater and sewer networks, to new drawings or when adding to an existing network drawing.

Feature Focus - Water
CHAINAGES ALONG A WATER BRANCH
Chainages along a water branch can now be automated within the water module. This is extremely useful for bulk water pipe branches as the chainages will correspond to the stake values found in the long section of the same water branch. In addition, if required, the automated branch routes can now be adjusted or defined by the user.
