2015 Focus - Slave Long Section Plotting

In Civil Designer 2015, you can create a road long section drawing that includes long sections of sewer, storm and/or water pipes within the road reserve.

Slave Long Section Plotting

Slave Long Section Plotting The sewer, storm and water long sections will be slaved to the road long section using the road's chainage as a reference. In effect these services are projected on to the road long section.

In order to achieve this, you simply need to define a Sheet File that includes the road long section definition as well as long section definitions for the services that you would like to include.

Once you have specified the road and services data that you want to extract you can generate a long section drawing which will include the relevant 'slave' long sections.

Note that this provides a schematic overview of the services along the road during the design review stage and pipe lengths cannot be measured from such a drawing.

Client Testimony

Delta Built Environment Civil Designer Project

"We used Civil Designer for the route determination and preliminary design of a 450 km gravel border road. The software has yet again proven itself, this time by easily processing large amounts of survey data and aerial imagery. Professional and complete road design drawings were generated directly from Civil Designer alleviating the requirement for other CAD software and greatly reducing time spent on drawing editing. Civil Designer has truly impressed us again."

Stanford Acres, Civil Engineer, Delta Built Environment Consultants (Pty) Ltd (Delta BEC), Johannesburg.

Accredited Training by Qualified Trainers

Our accredited training courses in the Civil Designer modules are facilitated by engineering professionals who have experience with the use of our software in industry applications. Our tuition provides delegates with ample opportunity to practice their new skills in a supportive learning environment and will increase your productivity.

I appreciated the speed of information processing and the easy intersection design. Lumko Makonza, Lumko Makonza Consulting Engineers, Johannesburg.
The training was good because it included tasks based on my individual experience. The software makes the design work easier. Kago Mathodi, Aquaducts Engineering Services, Johannesburg.
The simulation of 3D views and the long-section and cross-sections tools were most helpful. Theodore Rikhotso, Department of Public Works, Tshwane.
