EMBEDDED DRAWINGS (XREFS), COORDINATE TABLESLink an external drawing (External Reference or XRef) to the current drawing at a specific insertion point. The XRef's layers, linestyles, text styles, dimension styles and blocks will be merged into the current drawing. The XRef Manager allows you to edit the list of linked drawings. XRef's may be “loaded” and “unloaded” as necessary. You can also add a list of co-ordinates in table form to the drawing with the option of labelling and adding the co-ordinates to the points. |
UNLIMITED DTM SIZE WITH 255 SURFACESThe 255 terrain model surfaces give you the tools to explore different design ideas and analyze what-if scenarios to help improve project performance, calculate the difference in volumes in each case and optimize costs before projects are built. Once you have finalised your design you can merge the terrace with the underlying ground profile to create a final site model quickly and easily. |

POWERFUL DTM EDITING TOOLSYou can create a digital terrain model from the raw co-ordinates with full control over the break and feature lines on the site. If you want to remove the background clutter simply filter the points display to show only certain points and break lines. When you use the interactive graphical functions to manipulate the data the contours will be updated as you change the break or feature lines. For advanced DTM functions such as bulk earthworks and dam volumes you can add our Survey & Terrain Module. |
GENERATE CONTOURS AND CALCULATE SURFACESYou can generate contours with user-defined intervals, highlighting and labels. In fact, you can even display contours of multiple surfaces simultaneously. You can also calculate the volume of a single surface or the difference in volume between any two of your 255 surfaces. You can choose to have the volumes reported in either SABS 1200 or COLTO format with user-defined depth categories, topsoil stripping and compaction or bulking factors. |

CONVERT CAD LINES INTO FEATURE LINESThis function is used when you have CAD lines on top of your DTM model that you want converted to break lines. The DTM lines and points included in the model will then coincide with the CAD lines. The CAD lines could be from a drawing attached to the project or simply drafting that you have done during that session. Each CAD line on the relevant layers is then processed. The end points of the lines are then assigned an elevation by an interpolation on the surface you specified, and stored in the DTM database. |
INTERFACES WITH DATA CAPTURING DEVICES & SURVEY INSTRUMENTSThe Design Centre module lets you read in and reduce survey data from various sources. We support a number of other data logging programs and total stations. Data may be allocated into one of the 255 terrain surfaces. |

AUTOMATED KEY PLAN GENERATIONIf you have 100km of highway or a town layout that requires multiple sheets, Civil Designer will generate a key plan to show you where a specific drawing fits in to the whole design with a specified overlap between drawings. |
