What is MAP?

MAP is a fast and easy to use GIS (Geographic Information System) module. It is designed for use by local authorities, government bodies, non-government bodies and all others who need to represent physical entities with an associated database of information.

MAP allows you to work in a defined projection using a selected datum in either the southern or northern hemisphere. You can model point, line and region objects with user-defined attributes (data-base information) for each entity.

IMPORT EXPORT DATA

Import and export Arcview SHP files, MapInfo MID/MIF files and even Regis Feature files. MAP will calculate the length, perimeter and area of entities automatically. You can additionally identify the shortest route between any two objects in a line theme.

THEMES

You have full control over the way themes are displayed as well as the redraw order of the themes. You can also overlay drawings, bitmaps, topographical data and annotations.

Use the thematic mapping to display themes in an intuitive graphical form for quick recognition of the spatial relationship between objects.

DATABASES

Database information can be accessed locally or across your network. Work with existing enterprise data by joining spatial and non-spatial tables in a single heterogeneous theme.

Create new themes as SQL defined views of existing themes or as a buffered view of an existing theme. Query individual theme objects or browse all the objects of a selected theme.

ATTACH IMAGES, VIDEOS, DOCUMENTS TO OBJECTS

Use the multimedia field to attach drawings, bitmaps, videos, MS Office and other documents to any theme object.

Carry out various processes on selected objects from a theme such as updating attribute fields or creating a new theme from the selection set.

PLOT FINAL PROJECT

Finally, plot your theme with a title block and theme legend with a couple of mouse clicks.

The easy exchange of data between MAP and our CAD module lets you use MAP as an editor for ArcView and MapInfo users, or as a management system to compliment our design modules.

GENERAL

• Uses the industry standard MS Access database for data storage   enabling access to the attribute data via standard reports and forms • Easy creation, editing and deletion of themes • Create the following themes with full control over table structures   and display attributes: • point • line • region or area • Automatic calculation of object length for line themes, or object area   and perimeter for region themes • Auto-centering of attribute display point in region themes • Create new themes as views of existing themes or join spatial and   non-spatial tables to form a new theme • Run a consistency check to clean up themes and identify incorrect   regions quickly. Use the tidy polygon CAD function to clean up   incoming drawings • Seamless integration between MAP and CAD allows you to easily   change or update a theme, i.e. add sub-divisions quickly
