Civil Designer User Group Workshops |
|
| |
|
The first set of user group sessions kicked off in East London on 17 May 2007. The user group meetings have been designed in order to provide clients with an opportunity to receive interactive workshops presented by the Knowledge Base software developers within their fields of expertise.
|
Arcus Gibb and Africon were among the first to receive presentations covering Sewer House Connections in the Sewer module as well as the latest SWMM methodology in the Stormwater module. The sessions delivered by Stormwater Developer Johan Swart and National Key Accounts Manager Reece Hanning also provided a sneak preview on new functionality in the upcoming 6.5 version.
Other user group meetings conducted in the Mpumalanga region on 23 - 24 May included presentations at Endecon, Tumber Fourie, Mbombela Local Municipality, and the Department of Agriculture. During these sessions the Roads Developer Dawid du Toit focused on Quantities and Templates in the current Civil Designer version and also reviewed some of the new functionality in the upcoming version. AUXILLARY LANES
 |
The upcoming Civil Designer 6.5 version allows the addition of Auxillary Lanes in the Roads Module
via a simple dialogue, facilitating the creation of climbing lanes, drop off areas, bus embankments and
other lanes. The function allows you to specify the left or right alignment, the width,
the start and end
|
chainage position, the taper lead-in and lead-out length and the layer works template
to be applied before the auxillary lane is automatically created.
The Auxillary Lanes Function also includes a 'Speed Profiles' tool which calculates the point on an ascent at which a climbing lane should be positioned.
