KNOWLEDGE BASE EXHIBITS AT THE WESTERN
CAPE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT: PRINCIPALS
CONFERENCE
The Western Cape Education Department
recently held their Principals Conference
at the North Link College, Tygerberg
Campus on Saturday 11 June 2005 from 09:00
till 14:00.
Knowledge Base was one of the educational
exhibitors at the conference and showcased
the multiple uses of CAD in subjects like
Civil Technology and Engineering Graphics
and Design. The conference delegates
consisted of Further Education and
Training (FET) principals in the Western
Cape and various educational officials
from both national and regional level.
Among the dignitaries were Mr Ronald
Swartz (Superintendent General of
Education), Minister Cameron Dugmore (MEC
for Education), Ms Penny Vinjevold (Deputy
Director General for Further Education and
Training from the National Department of
Education), Ms Jenny Rault-Smith
(Director: Curriculum Development for the
Western Cape Education Department) and Mr
Peter Present, (Director in Research for
the Western Cape Education Department).
Seen in the picture below from left to
right, is Reece Hanning from Knowledge
Base, Penny Vinjevold, Deputy Director
General for FET and Vincent Bester, CEO

NEW TECH TIP TUTORIAL
How to create a Mass
Haul diagram.
This Tech Tip explains how to create a
Mass Haul diagram. No mass haul sheetfile
is provided with Civil Designer, so the
Single Carriageway longsection sheetfile
will be modified. A Mass Haul diagram is a
long section plotted from an ASCII file.
