Knowledge Base is a recipient at this year's annual South African Institution of Civil Engineering Awards. As a primary contributor to the SAICE magazine we have provided up to date news on engineering achievements

in civil infrastructure design. Our support of the magazine in the last few years has secured us the "Most Supportive Award" for two consecutive years. The award will be presented at a gala event on 2 October at the Bytes Conference Centre in Midrand. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our clients for making the ReKnown articles possible and for allowing us to keep the broader civil engineering community informed on infrastructural design projects with Civil Designer.

The pre-release of Civil Designer 6.5 will be made available at this year's IMESA conference. Clients visiting the ICC Durban conference between 23rd and 26th October will be able to secure their pack in advance.

The first 10 customers to collect their pack will also receive a 1Gig flash stick compliments of Knowledge Base. The remaining 10 flash sticks will be distributed as prizes during the conference. Click here to book your pack.

Information about pipe services is contained in multiple databases which can be accessed from the Roads module Pipe menu. You can add a database, remove a database from a list and

also edit the database settings such as the database name and file path using the 'Edit Database' name dialog. You can also import ASCII data and drawing entities into the Pipe Database spreadsheet. Information in these databases is used to indicate crossing positions of the pipes/cables on the Road, Sewer, Storm and Water Long Sections as well as the Road Vertical Alignment view. The databases can also be used when running the Pipe Clashes routine.
