The 71st Annual IMESA Conference and Exhibition took place
at the ICC in Durban between the 23rd and 26th October. The event was extremely successful
and saw the greatest turnout ever with more than 700 municipal engineers, technicians, technologists and conference exhibitors attending each day.

Knowledge Base exhibited their Civil Designer and AllyCAD infrastructure design software and
was pleased to receive overwhelming interest from new and existing clients.
With the theme 'Sustainable Municipal Engineering: 2010 and Beyond' many of the practical and technical presentations
addressed the progress and challenges facing all those involved with municipal
engineering as they look beyond the 2010 milestone, which is less than three years away.

THE SURVEY & TERRAIN MODULE
|
The Survey & Terrain Module of Civil Designer incorporates bulk earthworks, complex survey calculations and control surveys handling the whole process from initial field work through design and working drawings to the final construction control.
The module features interactive and dynamic strings based earthworks design and multiple terrace design with SABS1200 volume and cut and fill optimisation.
It includes arched dam design and full supply volumes with one click, powerful survey reduction routines and drainage path analysis.
In addition pipe and service database displays are included on the plan layouts, there are rendered 3D views with colours, textures and contours and the
module supports 3 projections with 187 Datums from around the world.
