DYNAMIC SIMULATION IN TURN

The Turn module simulates the low speed turning manoeuvres of a range of vehicles from cars through to trailers and semi-trailers, as well as user-defined vehicles, along a specified tracking path. With Turn you can create track paths, customise and create
|

your own vehicle libraries, perform tracking functions as well as forward and reverse movements, and also create output graphs. In addition the program has a dynamic simulation which indicates the starting position and direction and then graphically indicates a series of way points. This function allows the vehicle to automatically move to the way points while conforming to its minimum steering angle.

A National Register |

A national register of consulting engineers is currently in the pipeline which, together with the Engineering Council of South Africa's registered professionals, will aid public sector bodies when selecting suitably qualified engineers. With the 2010 infrastructural boom and the current shortage of skilled engineers local authorities will find it increasingly difficult to access competent consulting and contracting engineering capacity. The register therefore serves as an aid when sourcing competent staff. Knowledge Base promotes engineering excellence and publicises awards like the SAACE Glenrand MIB and the SAICE annual awards. Further details on the new national register will be provided in subsequent Civil Designer Newsletters.
