Civil Designer Training

Clients may like to know that the deadline to submit their SETA Skills Development Training Report is due at the end of June 2007. The submission may be used to claim back on Civil Designer training costs during the last financial year.

You can also present a schedule of future courses planned in the next financial year. With the release of the new BEE Codes, companies will be able to increase their training spend for the current year with particular reference to previously disadvantaged employees as it will assist with a favourable score card.

Civil Designer User Group Workshops

Topics covered included sewer house connections, how to define stormwater sub-catchments graphically, the optimisation of the Sheet File editor as well as the Strings functionality in the Survey & Terrain module.

Cape Town presentations were equally successful and were represented by Stormwater Developer Johan Swart, Survey & Terrain Developer Alasdair Craig and National Key Accounts Manager Reece Hanning. During presentations the Sewer House Connection functionality in the Sewer module as well as the latest SWMM methodology in the Stormwater module was covered. EXPORTING DAM VOLUMES

	The Dam Volumes function in Survey & Terrain now has a reservoir output option allowing the export of dam volumes into the Stormwater Module. This option, available in the upcoming 6.5 version, will create a reservoir file which can be used directly in the reservoir routine in
the Stormwater Module. The data can then be used to calculate the depth and storage arrays for detention pond storage volumes.
