THE PIPE DATABASE FUNCTIONALITY
 |
Information about pipe services is contained in multiple databases which can be created in the Water module. You can add a database, remove a database from a list and also edit the
|
|
database settings such as the database name and file path using the 'Edit Database' name dialog. You can also import ASCII data and drawing entities into the Pipe Database spreadsheet. Information in these databases is used to indicate crossing positions of the pipes/cables on the Road, Sewer, Storm and Water Long Sections as well as the Road Vertical Alignment view. The databases can also be used when running the Pipe Clashes routine.

The 2006 SAICE Infrastructure Report Card for South Africa has revealed the huge challenges facing the civil engineering industry with particular reference to the sanitation, solid waste management, roads, rail and electricity sectors. In order to assist clients, the Bureau division offers a secure outsourcing solution when completing specialised projects on time. The service is also backed by an on-line Needs Analysis Tool that will help clients identify potential resource bottlenecks that hamper service delivery.
