The highly popular advanced Roads Training course has recently been in high demand with clients from all over requesting the training. The Advanced Roads training course is a comprehensive two day course with specific outcomes.

In this course you will learn how to:

  • Set up design criteria
  • Optimize Cross Sections
  • Create a 2 phase Road construction of a dual carriageway road
  • Work with difference contours
  • Create a 3D view and fly path
  • Intersection design
  • Create Mass Haul diagrams

The last advanced Roads Training course for 2005 included clients from Arcus Gibb, Africon Engineering International, BKS, Ekcon and the Provincial Administration of the Western Cape.

PLOTTING MADE EASY IN CIVIL DESIGNER

The Plot Expert takes all the hassle out of plotting and greatly simplifies the previously time consuming task to just a few mouse-clicks.

All you need to do is to fill in the relevant details and click the Next button to continue. You can then automatically define plots within a user-defined rectangle or along a road centre line by selecting the Auto Define button. This function also allows you to exactly reproduce all or just some of the plots quickly and effectively.

The 'Key Plan Plotting' enables you to plot a Key Plan to indicate the position of your predefined plots. This functionality can be used along a road centre line, or as a mosaic on a large-scale layout. Once the Key Plan is generated, the individual plots are numbered according to a user-defined numbering scheme to indicate the position of the lot in the key plan.

The intelligent extraction and display of long section pipe crossing is another handy feature that will save you loads of time. By switching on the plotting of pipe crossings the program shows you where the services are located relative to the road, making it easy to check for service clashes. These pipe positions and details are Intelligently extracted from SEWER, STORM, WATER or DESIGN CENTRE pipe data.

In addition to this, pipe long section plotting enables the information to be displayed at any chainage interval. Invert levels and ground levels are then Intelligently interpolated at user-defined chainage levels. These Intelligent features makes designing quick, easy and accurate, and helps you to optimise the program for greater productivity and performance.
