Design Criteria
With Civil Designer 6.3, it now allows you to have electronic design criteria for horizontal alignment, vertical alignment and super-elevation parameters.
Multiple design criteria files can be saved for different clients, regions or state authorities. This great feature negates time-consuming design criteria searches as well as human error.
The function takes into account many variables for the different alignments, amongst these are: criteria for handling broken-back and compound curves, minimum K-values for sags and crests, super-elevation for straights and lane factor, various development methods for transition curves and limiting tangent length for broken-back curves.

The section headed "Detail of Experience" in his voluminous résumé seems to almost downplay the varied and vast experience of this quietly spoken Civil Technician at Africon in Cape Town. It says his 'main responsibilities are geometric design and related road works, and then lists eight different aspects of roads as examples.
