With Civil Designer, you are able to access the power of our versatile and easy to use CAD drafting engine. Here you will find all the tools specifically designed for creating and editing road and rail alignments.

You may meet your design criteria using special curves such as clothoid spiral transitions, reverse, compound and broken back curves. There is also a built-in sight-distance routine that ensures that you will meet the myriad requirements of various authorities.

Auto Design

Auto Design is simple and just that, automatic. You decide what you want it to complete and when you require it to do the work, as you set the parameters.

The program will keep account of your design, whether for highways, railroads, airports or any other alignment-based design. The beauty of such a system is that whenever you change something, the program prompts you to allow it to complete the necessary tedious, repetitive and mundane calculations.

Analysis

Our easy to use Roads module can help you meet your design criteria and also accurately evaluate such issues as costs (quantities), drainage, land acquisition, volumes etc. You may use existing data, project aerial photos onto elevation models, or perform lines-of-sight and 3D drive-through using our integrated civil engineering and GIS platform. The program gives you the edge when creating displays and annotations, run what-if scenarios and calculate elevations and cut/fill volumes (SABS & COLTO). The best part of all is that it takes place in one integrated system!
