Pipe Database



This function enables you to create multiple databases containing information regarding pipe services, for example Sewer pipes, Stormwater culverts, Water networks, electrical layouts, telecommunication cables etc.  You can then use these databases to indicate crossing positions of the pipes/cables on Road, Sewer, Storm and Water Long Sections as well as the Road Vertical Alignment view. The databases can also be used when running the checking for Pipe Clashes.

 
Creating the database

Pipe Menu > Pipe Database > Edit Data





To create a new database, click on the Add New Database button.


File Name Use the "..." button to browse for the database file name to be used. When adding a new database you can specify an existing or new file name.
DBase Name Specify a name for the database. This database will be referenced by this name in all the other functions that use Pipe Databases. The name will also appear in the "Active Pipe Database" list box.
OK Button Click this button to save the changes to the active database
Cancel Button Click this button to end the function without saving.



 

Use the browse button to specify a new database file. Specify a name for the new database by which you will be able to select this database in the other routines that use pipe databases.

Click OK to continue.




Type in the relative information,
The data can also be imported from an ASCII file, or a CAD drawing showing the pipes/cables. In the CAD drawing, the pipes/cables need to be in one CAD layer.
Close the spreadsheet to save the changes.
