Inserting Skew Cross Sections Graphically



This Tech Tip explains how to insert skew cross sections into a road graphically.

 

The project has a drawing attached that shows the position of the skew cross sections.

Tools Menu › Index › Graphical Insertion




Select Graphically Indicate Skew angle, click OK to continue.

 

The program will prompt :



 


Graphically indicate the position on the Design centre window to the left of the centre line where the cross section line must run through.

 

The program will prompt:



 

Graphically indicate the position on the Design centre window to the Right of the centre line where the cross section line must run through.

 

Once the positions have been indicated the program shows the cross section that will be inserted (the angle is automatically calculated). Click Yes to add the cross section to the road index.

 

 

 
 


Once the cross section has been added, additional cross section can be added if required.


 

 

Once all the cross section have been added, click No.

 

The cross section will automatically be coordinated and added.

 



 

 

Plotting the skew cross section(s)

 

Plot Menu › Generate






Click Next to continue




 

Select Plot Skew sections only.

 

Click Finish to generate the plot.
