Kerb Editor (version 6.5)
This Tech Tip explains how to use the Kerb Editor to create a new kerb profile or to edit an existing kerb profile
Using the Kerb Editor
Tools Menu › Kerb Edit

Civil Designer has a few default kerb profiles included in the program. if you need to create a new kerb, it is easier to load an existing profile and then make the changes.
Click on the Load button to load a default kerb profile.

Select the desired profile, and then click on Open to load the profile.

Geometry
Specifies the cross sectional geometry of a kerb by using 2 dimensional vectors.

|
Hor Column |
Specifies a horizontal movement, starting
from the edge of the carriageway (PLC 100 or 101) |
|
Ver Column |
Specifies a vertical movement, starting
from the edge of the carriageway (PLC 100 or 101) |
|
Stop |
Indicate where the compulsory portion of
the template must start. When generating edge levels, a "cut-out" will be
created from row 1 up to this row. |
Quantities
Specifies quantities to be calculated when running "Kerb Quantities". The program will automatically multiply the specified quantities by the length of kerb calculated at the kerb face.

|
Type |
Enter the type of quantity to be
calculated. Click on the drop down arrow to select the type either volume,
area or linear. |
|
Formula |
Enter the range (closed polygon for
Volumes and open polygon for Areas). You can also add, subtract, multiply or
divide a constant value to the range. (Right click in the Formula column to
access the tools to define formula) |
|
Description |
Enter a description that will be printed
when running Kerb volumes |
Using the Define Region option, you click on the sides of the kerb to add the values into the formula.
As you define the region, the range defined will be highlighted in the Formula Range Pen.

Once the range has been defined, right click to add the range into the Formula column.

The formula can be tested by right clicking ion the Formula column and select test Formula, the
results for the formula will be shown.

A description can also be added if required.
Once the kerb has been created, the file can be saved by clicking on the Save button.
