Adding Pavement Profile to Cross Section Drawings



This Tech Tip explains how to add the pavement profile to cross section drawings.

 
Modifying the Sheetfile

Plot Menu › Generate

Select the cross section sheetfile.
 



 

Click on the Sheet File Editor button.

The sheetfile will open in the Sheet File Editor.

 


 

Once the sheet file is open, click on the Cross Section tab (on top), and the the Layout tab (at the bottom)

 


 

Right click on the "Display Layerworks" value column, the default value will change to 'No', right click again. The layerworks dialog will appear.

 


 

Draw Pavement Symbol

Check this to display the Pavement Design symbol on the Cross Section drawing.

X-Origin

The X-Coordinate of the Bottom Left hand side corner of the symbol.

Y-Origin

The Y-Coordinate of the Bottom Left hand side corner of the symbol

Scale Factor

The symbol will be scaled by this value when plotted

Colour

The pen colour of the symbol.


 

The values used for the X-Origin and Y-Origin will vary depending on the scale and size of cross section. Clicking on the preview tab in the Sheet File Editor will show the position of the profile relative to the cross section.

Once the changes have been made to the sheetfile, save the sheetfile under a different name (keep the original as a backup).

 


 

Generating the Plot

The new sheetfile will automatically be used when the plot is generated.
 


 

Click Next and then Finish to generate the plot.
