Data Exchange between Civil Designer and ModelMaker



Previously, importing a DTM file from Civil Designer into ModelMaker resulted in the loss of some breakline information. The user had to export the DTM as an ASCII file and then import the file into ModelMaker, but the breaklines were not included. In version 6.4 of Civil Designer, a new feature has been added to solve this problem

Survey Mode

 

File Menu › Export › ModelMaker Exchange CDM





 

The standard Point Filter dialog appears, we are going to export the entire DTM, so select All selected surfaces.

 

Click OK to continue.




 

Give the file a name and click Save.

 

To import the file into ModelMaker (only works with version 5 and later)

 

File Menu › Import ASCII & Other › Civil Designer

 

Due to the different systems used, a message will appear when importing the CDM file.

 



 

Click OK to continue.




The same project imported into ModelMaker with all the triangulation.
